Sharon Adams - Diploma Applied Science (Naturopathy)

Sharon is a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association since 1994 and has worked as a Nutritionist and Naturopath from 17 years. She has extensive experience teaching in vocational education developing training materials. Sharon tutors all the nutrition courses for Health Academy.

 

David Webb - David is the author of Essential Man and is a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS). David was the former Vice-Chairperson of the National Council for the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA), and Editor of the aromatherapy journal, 'Simply Essential'. David is the current president of the International Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine Association (IAAMA).

 

Matthew Roberts - Bachelor of Biomedical science (major Anatomy), Completing Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery

Matthew is currently studying medicine to become a doctor. He has worked as an Anatomy Lecturer and tutor for Australian Catholic Universty and UQ respectively.

 

Justine Boss - BA Psychology, Dip counselling, Dip Child Psychology

Justine is highly qualified with a bachelors degree and a range of Diplomas and certificates in Psychology and Counselling. She has experience working with disabled children. She tutors all the counselling and Psychology modules at Health Academy.

 

Davinia Mehta - B.Sc (Excercise Science), Dip Anatomy and Physiology

Davinia is qualified in the fields of science, biology, sports science with experience in writing and worked asa Cardiac Technician in Greenslopes Hospital. Currently she is co Authooring a book aimed at students studying nursing and medicine. She tutors Medical terminology and Biology modules at Health Academy.

 

Casey Campleman - B.Sc. (Biological Scinces), B.Sc.Hon Microbiology

Casey has written extensively on medical and health related topics, she also has experience in Medical Microbiology, Public Health, Human Physiology and      
Molecular Biology/Genetics. She tutors Human Biology, Cell Biology and Biopsychology with Health Academy.

 

Vahini Panda - B.Sc.(Biology & Nutrition), MIT (E Commerce)

She has worked as clinical dietician in a cardiac unit. Vahini has 6 years experience in teaching Human Biology, Medical Terminology and Nutrition at a vocational institute. She tutors Medical Terminology, Human Biology and Human Nutrition.

 

Dr Ramana Panda MBBS, FRCS, Dip Medical Informatics.

Dr Panda is a practicing Medical GP Specialising in Skin cancer Lesions. He has 15 years experience in the fields of medicine, health and Medical informatics. He designs, writes and structures medical related courses for Health Academy.

 

Tracey Jones

B.Sc. (Hons) (Psychology), M.Soc.Sc (social work), DipSW (social work), PGCE (Education), PGD (Learning Disability Studies). Tracey has around 15 years experience within the psychology and social work field, particularly working with people with learning disabilities. She is also qualified as a teacher and now teaches psychology and social work related subjects.

She is a book reviewer for the British Journal of Social Work. Tracey has also written a text book on Psychology and has had several short stories published.

 

Alison Tuck - Psychologist

Alison is a qualified practising Psychologist. She tutors all the Psychology modules at Health Academy. She is specialised in working with children, adolescents and families. Working with teachers. Counselling for stress, depression and anxiety. Pain and illness management (E.g. Workcover, EAP). She also does Supervision of conditionally registered psychologists. Writing: Non-Fiction (Psychological reports and articles for MUM magazine). Fiction (Short stories for children and adolescents)

 

Lyn Quirk M.Prof.Ed.; Adv.Dip.Compl.Med (Naturopathy); Adv.Dip.Sports Therapy

Lyn has 25 years of experience in the Fitness, Health and Leisure Industries. She has a string of qualifications that are far too long to list here; being qualified and registered to teach, coach or instruct a wide range of different sports and other skills.

Lyn established and managed Health clubs at three major five star resorts on Queensland's Gold Coast, including the Marriot. She was a department head for a large government vocational college (TAFE), and has conducted her own aquafitness business for many years.

 

Alison Sweet BBioMedSc (Hon)

Alison has 5 years experience as a medical research scientist with her work included in two publications in the American Journal of Medical Genetics. A member of the ESA, ASMR and Nutrition Australia she has given presentations at a number of professional conferences around Australia. A trained phlebotomist, Alison is currently completing her PhD thesis in Molecular Biology

 

Dr Valeria Astorga PhD (Life Sc), B.Biol, Dip. Nutrition

Since graduating from Barcelona University in 1988, Valeria has worked across diverse areas of biological science, from environmental management to landscaping and human nutrition; mostly in Spain, Chile and Australia.
